I was really sad to learn of the death of my friend and colleague Dave. His daughter Lesley very kindly telephoned me a few days ago to let me know.Dave and I worked together on numerous occasions over the years and he was always a pleasure to be with. Kind, funny, hard working, he would lift the mood of any day.
He took a huge amount of pride in his work which was always exemplary. He also had a comprehensive knowledge of the building trade. He was able and always ready to turn his hand to many things.
When Dave's brother Len died in a tragic accident it was a bitter blow for Dave. He and Len had so often worked together. It took great strength and fortitude on Dave's part to recover from the shock and grief and carry on working.
Long after retirement Dave's interest and passion for his trade lead he to keep up to date with new regulations and he was always ready to take on new work. His fitness and expertise never failed to impress. I will miss him greatly. Chris Sanftleben
